The Days & the Nights

Hi! It was difficult putting my real first blog.
In effect, it took me two days before I could decide upon my first Hymn to be on air.

Each one of us lives a life which is unique to himself or herself,  but history sees them as one only. The great scientists have been developing theories to define time and the beginning or end of the universe. While they may be able to do that and their colleagues may be able to make our lives more comfortable with numerous new luxuries, the cycle of life in the form of birth and death, happiness and sorrow, achievements and failures etc would continue to move along a path unknown, uncharted and unimaginable.
This poem, if it is one, is a tribute to life and its existence.

The Days and the Nights

The days and the nights,
Test the commons and the knights!

Some wake up and are on run,
Some take it as a hilarious fun;
Many get hurt and also weep,
Many writhe through their sleep.

         Here is a chance, here is a peck,
         Here is the gallows matching your neck;
         One may opt for numerous fights,
         One may shout for one's rights.

The days and the nights,
Test the commons and the knights!

Why the sun scorches every day?
And the moon slowly wanes away?
Are the puppets without strings?
Are the paupers naught the kings?

          Writing on the wall can you read?
          Who's there to hear you plead?
          Reason not the prey of mights,
          Tear not the glare of lights.

The days and the nights,
Test the commons and the knights!

The days and the nights,
Drama of touch,taste,smell,sound and sights!

A show of dreams on the stage,
Of life, of death, of passion, of rage;
Will make you dizzy and scare,
Will ask you of gut and your dare;

          Get up and take the pike and sword,
          Loosing the battle you can't afford;
          Gather yourself to face the plight,
          Sharpen the axe to tear the slight.

The days and the nights,
Test the commons and the knights!

          The goals, the games and the gains,
          The truths, the losses and the pains;
          They are there to give you hope,
          Like the knots in the rope.

Being together, giving and sharing,
Breaking the silence, needing and caring;
You wanted them to last forever,
You knew, though, can happen never;

          Seeking a future sure and bright,
          A life without fear or fright.
The days and the nights,
Test the commons and the knights!

The days and the nights,
The elixir of life and its blights!
          Let Him just know your wishes,
          You will reach the pond with fishes;
          Yet, you can't skip the rigour,
          Have courage, desire and vigour.
To live, to love and to leave a legacy,
To labour, to savour and to ecstacy;
He can make lames scale the heights,
He holds the birds up in flights.
The days and the nights,
Test the commons and the knights!
            He'd see you when you need,
            Will cry with pain when you bleed;
            Look for Him when lost in dark,
            He kindles within like a spark;
            Don't forget He gives us a try,
            Give Him smiles, not a cry;
            Seek Him not for sins of yore,
            Let Him lit the path of fore;
            Thank Him for the gift of lights!
            Thank Him for the days and the nights!!
The days and the nights,
Test the commons and the knights!
